L&T's Vyoma.AI wins Together AI order to build 10,000-GPU NVIDIA AI factory in Chennai

Larsen & Toubro’s data-center subsidiary Vyoma.AI has won an order worth about $1.2 billion to $1.8 billion from US-based Together AI to build what both companies describe as India’s largest single-cluster AI infrastructure. The order, worth roughly Rs 10,000 to 15,000 crore, came without a first-party release from either company, though leadership on both sides confirmed it on the record.

The project, run through Vyoma’s AI-infrastructure unit LTN Compute, is an NVIDIA B300 AI Factory with capacity for 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs, to be hosted at Vyoma’s Chennai data-center campus. The gigawatt-scale site’s first phase is designed for 250 megawatts, with 150 MVA of power-infrastructure readiness, and will run Together AI’s cloud platform for training, fine-tuning and inference.

The order lands as India pushes to host frontier-scale compute domestically rather than rent it abroad. L&T chairman and managing director S.N. Subrahmanyan said the deal reinforces the company’s drive to make India ‘a global hub for next-generation AI infrastructure.’ Together AI co-founder and chief executive Vipul Ved Prakash pointed to L&T’s scale and engineering capability in choosing the partner.

The figures and the ‘largest single-cluster’ claim come from the two companies and have not been independently verified; the order value is quoted as a wide range, and no signed contract or financial filing has been published. Build timelines for gigawatt-scale sites also routinely slip.

The signal to watch is power: securing 250 megawatts on schedule, and the GPUs to fill it, is the hard part of any AI factory. Whether Chennai’s first phase energizes on plan will tell more than the headline order value.
