Supabase raises $500 million at $10.5 billion as AI coding tools drive database growth

Supabase, a San Francisco open source Postgres development platform, said on June 4, 2026 that it raised $500 million in a Series F round at a $10.5 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC, with existing investors including Accel, Y Combinator, Craft, Felicis, Peak XV and Coatue taking part, Stripe making its second investment and Salesforce Ventures joining, the company said.

The new figure roughly doubles the $5 billion valuation Supabase carried at its Series E, when it raised $100 million. That jump is the update here — months of AI-driven growth repriced the company, lifting its total capital raised past $1 billion.

What is driving the demand is the more notable disclosure. AI coding tools are now deploying the majority of databases created on Supabase's platform, with Anthropic's Claude Code identified as the largest contributor since the start of the year, according to Supabase. As AI agents write more application code, they also spin up the back-end databases that code needs — and Supabase is positioning itself as the default destination for that automated provisioning.

The growth and attribution figures are Supabase's own and have not been independently verified. The company reports more than 250,000 customers; it was co-founded in 2020 by Paul Copplestone, its chief executive, and Ant Wilson, its chief technology officer.

Alongside the raise, Supabase previewed Multigres, an open source horizontal scaling layer it said brings sharding, zero-downtime migrations and high availability to Postgres for the largest workloads. Whether that engineering ambition holds up — and whether AI-generated database growth proves durable rather than a momentary surge — will test the valuation the round just set.
