Vibe-coding startup Emergent raises $130 million Series C at a $1.5 billion valuation

Emergent, a “vibe coding” startup, has raised a $130 million Series C that values it at $1.5 billion, roughly five times the valuation it held six months ago.

The round was led by Creaegis, with Claypond Capital and Sentinel Global co-leading and participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed and Y Combinator, Emergent said. It brings the company’s total funding to $230 million, up from the $300 million valuation it held after a $70 million Series B in January.

Emergent’s platform lets non-technical users build software through natural-language prompts, part of a wave of tools that turn plain-English instructions into working apps. The fivefold markup in six months tracks how aggressively investors are pricing that category, even as questions about code quality and reliability persist.

The company says it has reached about $120 million in annualized run-rate revenue, up 70% over the prior four months, with more than 200,000 paying customers and over 12 million applications built on its platform since launch. Those figures are self-reported and were not independently audited.

Emergent said it plans to use the funds to improve the success rate of apps built on its platform and to expand support for local and open-source models, a signal that reliability, not just growth, is where the next competition sits.
