Crusoe contracts 4.9 gigawatts of AI data centers across five U.S. campuses

Oracle and Microsoft campuses in Abilene, Texas anchor the contracted total, set against a development pipeline Crusoe says exceeds 40 gigawatts.

Crusoe said on June 9, 2026 that it has contracted 4.9 gigawatts of AI infrastructure across data center projects and capacity for its Crusoe Cloud business, with a total development pipeline exceeding 40 gigawatts. The contracted figure ranks among the larger positions disclosed in a U.S. buildout straining to keep pace with demand.

Most of the contracted capacity sits in Texas. A 1.2-gigawatt flagship campus in Abilene was purpose-built for Oracle, with its first two buildings operational and six more under construction, the company said. A second Abilene campus, 900 megawatts and recently broken ground, is for Microsoft. Two more large Texas campuses and one in Missouri round out the five-campus contracted total.

Chief executive Chase Lochmiller said demand from leading technology companies for AI infrastructure has never been greater. To hedge against supply bottlenecks, Crusoe manufactures long-lead electrical components at its own facilities in Colorado, Oklahoma and Louisiana.

The figures are Crusoe's own and the distinction between contracted and pipeline capacity matters: the 4.9-gigawatt number reflects signed agreements, while the 40-gigawatt-plus pipeline — which includes sites under tenant negotiation and in advanced development — is far more speculative. For scale, McKinsey projects 156 gigawatts of AI-related data center capacity will be needed by 2030.

Whether Crusoe can energize its contracted campuses on schedule — power, not silicon, is the gating constraint for most operators — will determine how much of that 4.9 gigawatts comes online when promised.
