CoreWeave, Inc. (NASDAQ: CRWV) officially joined the Nasdaq-100 Index on June 22, 2026, just 15 months after its March 2025 initial public offering — the first pure-play GPU cloud company to enter the benchmark.

The speed is the story. Most companies take years of public trading to qualify; CoreWeave secured a spot inside its second year. The Nasdaq-100 holds 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq, and entry matters mechanically: exchange-traded funds and mutual funds that track the index must buy the new member. Nasdaq says the index is tracked by more than 200 investment products with over $800 billion in assets under management globally.

Nasdaq announced the inclusion on June 12, 2026, with the change taking effect on June 22 as part of the index's quarterly rebalancing. CoreWeave was not alone — Rocket Lab, Astera Labs, Nebius and Teradyne also entered in the same reshuffle, a cohort weighted toward AI infrastructure and hardware.

CoreWeave describes itself as a GPU cloud platform built for AI workloads. Index membership is a milestone of scale and liquidity, not a verdict on the business: it reflects market capitalization and trading volume, not profitability or the durability of AI demand.

The automatic buying that comes with inclusion can support a stock, but it cuts both ways — a member that shrinks can be removed at a future rebalancing, and passive flows reverse just as mechanically as they arrive.

For a company that was private 16 months ago, a seat in one of the most-tracked equity benchmarks shows how fast the GPU-cloud build-out has pulled AI infrastructure names into the market's core.
