Wix is enhancing its app builder AI-assisted creation features

Wix, a platform primarily known for its web design tools, recently announced that it would launch a generative AI feature to its mobile app builder, allowing users to create branded full mobile apps through a conversational AI chat experience. To start building, Wix users only need to describe the intent and goals for their app, and the generative AI feature will generate a fully designed, professional-grade native mobile application for iOS and Android.

To get all the necessary information, the mobile app builder guides the users through the chat experience, asking follow-up questions as needed to fill in any gaps the user left. Then, once the app is generated, users can customize and refine the generated application to their precise specifications through Wix's Mobile App Editor. Using the Mobile App Editor, users can add sections, widgets, themes, and other details to their apps, which are easily previewed before going live on the iOS App Store and Google Play. Wix's Head of Mobile Apps, Noa Eiland, expressed excitement about "expanding their suite of AI tools to mobile" and empowering users to "create a custom native mobile app using the AI chat experience."

Users retain complete ownership of their branding and the apps generated using the AI solution. Moreover, the Wix site, dashboard, and app activity are synced in real-time. This includes the submission process to the app stores, automatic version updates, new feature releases, and more. By taking care of most of the technical heavy lifting, Wix has built a tool that aims at democratizing app development, allowing individuals and teams with limited technical knowledge and resources to establish a branded mobile presence thanks to its no-code environment.
