Ex-Nvidia researcher Sanja Fidler's startup Veeda AI raises more than $90 million

Veeda AI, a Toronto startup founded by former Nvidia research executive Sanja Fidler, has raised more than $90 million in seed funding to build AI ‘world models’ for training robots. Khosla Ventures and Radical Ventures co-led the financing, according to people familiar with the round.

The size is striking for a company barely off the ground. Veeda AI, legally Veeda Innovation, was incorporated in June 2026, making the raise one of the largest seed rounds by a Canadian startup, struck about three months after founding.

Fidler previously ran an AI research lab at Nvidia, and two of her co-founders came with her: Huan Ling, the chief scientist, and Zan Gojcic, the chief technology officer, both former Nvidia colleagues.

The company is building multimodal world models, AI systems that simulate physical, spatial and movement dynamics. The goal is to generate scalable virtual environments where embodied and robotic agents can be trained at volume, without the cost and slowness of collecting data in the real world. It is the same broad bet — that robots learn faster in simulation — driving several well-funded labs.

The round rests on reporting rather than a company announcement. Veeda AI’s own site describes its work but carries no funding disclosure, and the figures have not been confirmed first-hand. Whether world models produce robot behavior that transfers reliably to physical hardware remains an open research question.
