Obsidian Security raised an $85 million Series D led by Crescent Cove Advisors on August 4, 2026, lifting the AI-agent security company’s valuation to $1.1 billion.

Greylock Partners, Menlo Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, IVP, Wing Ventures and Google Ventures also joined the round. The Obsidian Security Series D is a bet that a fast-growing class of buyers needs to secure the AI agents now acting inside their software, not just the people using it.

The company sells a platform that governs AI agents and non-human identities operating inside third-party SaaS applications, controlling what those agents can access, how they authenticate and what data they can move. Obsidian says more than 65% of its enterprise customers have already granted AI agents access to third-party SaaS apps, a figure that captures why it is pitching agent security as an urgent category.

Obsidian also said more than 14 customers now pay it over $1 million a year and more than 100 pay over $100,000. Those revenue and adoption figures are the company’s own and were not independently confirmed.

The pitch rests on a specific argument about speed. “The concept of detection and response doesn’t work in the agentic world. Agents move in seconds, maybe milliseconds,” chief executive Hasan Imam said, arguing that security has to prevent bad actions rather than catch them after the fact. Whether prevention-first controls hold up as agents take on more autonomous work is the test the funding is meant to buy time to answer.
