Naive raises $28.5M Series A for API that lets AI agents run whole businesses

Naive, a Palo Alto startup, has raised a $28.5 million Series A for an API that lets AI coding agents incorporate and run entire autonomous businesses, CEO Sean Dorje said on Aug. 6, 2026.

The round was led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from Y Combinator, Zetta Venture Partners, Liquid 2 Ventures and angel investors including Gokul Rajaram and former HubSpot COO JD Sherman, bringing Naive’s total funding to about $32 million.

Naive packages LLC incorporation, email, phone numbers, cloud infrastructure, Stripe payments and QuickBooks accounting behind one API, so AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can provision and operate a company with little human setup.

Dorje said the company signed more than 30,000 developer customers within months of launch and grew annual run-rate revenue roughly tenfold, to the low double-digit millions, over about six months — run by a full-time team of 10. Those figures are the company’s own and have not been independently verified. Early customers include AI automation agencies, autonomous TikTok and YouTube channels, and a rental car agency.

The pitch rides a bet that autonomous agents will spin up real companies, not just write code. It also raises unresolved questions about liability and oversight when software, rather than a person, is running a registered business.
