Lightsage Raises $4M for AI Agent Commerce Tools
Lightsage raised $4 million in funding, led by Nexus Venture Partners, to develop software that measures how AI agents discover, evaluate and integrate software products.
Lightsage raised $4 million in funding led by Nexus Venture Partners, the San Francisco startup said in an official announcement on September 8. Its tools are designed to measure how autonomous AI agents find, evaluate and use software products.
The company said it will use the financing to expand its evaluation, analytics, attribution and optimization capabilities while growing its technical and commercial teams. The announcement did not disclose a valuation, financing instrument or ownership terms, or identify the funding as a particular round stage.
DataPhoenix recently covered another Nexus-led agent-software round: Naive’s $28.5 million Series A for an API that lets AI agents run businesses.
According to Lightsage, its platform runs simulations across answer engines and coding agents, assigning integration tasks and measuring whether agents can discover a product and use it successfully. The tests cover APIs, software development kits, command-line interfaces, Model Context Protocol servers and agent skills. Lightsage said the platform currently supports Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode, among other coding agents.
The company said its diagnostics can identify obstacles in documentation, authentication, API endpoints, SDK implementations and incompatible MCP servers. Product teams can rerun workflows after making changes and compare agent success. Lightsage also offers analytics for agent traffic to websites and documentation, including whether those visits lead to product use. The announcement provided no independent benchmarks or methodology details for these capabilities.
Lightsage identifies Firecrawl, Reducto, Daytona, Rime and Tinyfish as customers. The announcement included no customer statements or independently tested performance results.
Lightsage was founded by CEO Jun Liang Lee and CTO Sean Er. The company calls its category “Agent-Led Growth,” describing it as work focused on how AI agents discover, evaluate, use and eventually pay for software. The announced individual backers include former Salesforce CTO Steven Tamm, Postman CEO Abhinav Asthana, Apollo CEO Matt Curl, and DocuSign President and General Manager of Growth Robert Chatwani.
