Huawei Cloud launches CodeArts Agent beta and Agentic Infrastructure in Thailand

Huawei Cloud launched its Agentic Infrastructure and opened public beta testing of CodeArts Agent, a coding agent, in Thailand, the company said on July 24, 2026 at the Huawei Cloud Summit Thailand. It is the Chinese cloud provider’s push to sell agent-building tools in Southeast Asia.

Agentic Infrastructure bundles four services, including a memory-storage layer that Huawei Cloud says offers petabyte-scale storage for long-horizon agent tasks, and AgentSphere, a secure runtime for autonomous agents. The other two handle token generation and the scheduling of general-purpose and AI compute.

CodeArts Agent generates project-level code, completes code and answers engineering questions. Its ‘Agent Team’ mode assembles multiple agents to work concurrently, and it applies what Huawei Cloud calls ‘Specification-Driven Development,’ generating code from a written spec.

Huawei Cloud said it ranks third in Thailand’s infrastructure-as-a-service market and serves more than 40 government agencies and thousands of local enterprises, a claim it did not independently substantiate. Sunny Shang, Huawei Cloud’s Asia-Pacific president, presented the launch.

The Thailand rollout signals where Huawei Cloud sees room to grow as U.S. sanctions limit its Western reach. Whether the CodeArts Agent beta converts into paying enterprise deployments, or stays a demo, will test the strategy.
