Google Labs has unveiled Opal, an experimental no-code platform that enables users to build and share AI-powered mini-applications using only natural language and visual editing. The tool democratizes AI app development by allowing anyone to chain together prompts, models, and tools without writing code.

Opal's core strength lies in its capabilities for workflow creation. Users can describe their desired application logic in plain English, and Opal automatically generates a visual workflow that chains together multiple AI model calls and tools. The platform combines conversational commands with a visual editor, giving users fine-grained control while maintaining simplicity.

Key features include the ability to create multi-step workflows, make real-time edits through natural language or a visual interface, and instantly share completed apps with others via Google accounts. A demo gallery provides starter templates that users can customize or use as-is for common use cases.

Currently available as a US-only public beta, Opal represents Google's bet on making AI application development accessible to non-technical users. The platform targets rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and custom productivity tools for workplace automation.
