Fluidstack, the AI data-center builder selected by Anthropic for a roughly $50 billion compute buildout, disclosed on July 21, 2026 that it raised an $830 million Series A at a $7.5 billion valuation. The round was led by Situational Awareness, with participation from other global investors.

The timing carries a wrinkle. Fluidstack said the round actually closed in January 2026 and was only made public six months later. Late disclosures of already-closed rounds are common among infrastructure startups that time announcements to customer milestones.

Fluidstack said the funding backs a goal of deploying hundreds of gigawatts of compute for AI labs, and that it is hiring for hundreds of positions. Its Anthropic contract spans data centers across Texas and New York.

The valuation and buildout figures are the company’s own and have not been independently verified. Fluidstack’s fortunes are tightly bound to a single anchor customer: much of its disclosed scale rests on the Anthropic compute buildout, leaving it exposed if that commitment shifts.

AI labs are increasingly leaning on specialized builders like Fluidstack to stand up power and cooling faster than the hyperscale clouds can. Whether Fluidstack converts the Anthropic contract into a broader roster of AI-lab customers will determine if the $7.5 billion valuation holds.
