Blacksmith raised a $45 million Series B led by Peak XV Partners at a $550 million valuation, the company said in its announcement. That is nearly 10 times what the CI/CD infrastructure and AI code-validation startup was worth less than a year earlier. Y Combinator and Google Ventures (GV) also took part, and the round closed in March 2026 before being made public on August 12.

The valuation jump — from roughly $60 million at its $10 million Series A — tracks a surge in demand for tools that check AI-generated code. Blacksmith, founded in 2024, runs continuous-integration and continuous-delivery (CI/CD) infrastructure and validates code before it ships.

More than 6,000 companies now run continuous-integration jobs on its platform, including Supabase, Clerk, Ashby, and Mercury, up from about 700 customers a year earlier, the company said. Co-founder and Chief Executive Aditya Jayaprakash said Blacksmith reached $10 million in annualized revenue with 10 employees a year ago and has since grown to ‘tens of millions of dollars’ with a 30-person team — figures the company has not broken out further.

Most of the new capital will go to compute. Blacksmith said it manages hundreds of thousands of CPU cores today and plans to expand that footprint roughly tenfold in the coming months.

The bet is that AI-written code keeps outrunning the tools that test it. If it does, Blacksmith’s tenfold compute plan is a demand forecast; if the coding wave cools, it is an overbuild.
